Here are some shots from the Woodland Path garden bed, in our Wildlife-friendly Demonstration Garden. Walking by on the way to my car a couple of days ago around 3:00 p.m., I noticed some small and oh-so-beautiful bees visiting our patch of bellwort. A closer look yielded what appeared to be even smaller bees buzzing around the flowers, as well. Yesterday my colleague Melissa and I went out at the same time of day to photograph them and found the smaller bees were back along with a butterfly getting a good drink! It looks like a spring azure, but I’d have to check further to be sure. There was also a bumblebee visiting the different spring flowers. Melissa got a nice picture of it on the Dutchman’s breeches, below.
