Did you know that Canadian university students in full-time conservation programs are now invited to apply for a CWF scholarship?
These endowments are administered by the Canadian Wildlife Foundation and were established by the generosity of donors who wanted to leave a legacy for healthy Canadian wildlife and habitat. The deadline for all funds is May 31.
50 Years and Counting
The Canadian Wildlife Federation’s academic support goes back 50 years, when the Orville Erickson Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 1975. Some of the programs that previous recipients have studied include Biological Studies, Zoology, Management, Environmental Biology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Ecological Restoration and Environmental Sciences. These funds are intended for students intending to live and work in Canada.
Advancing Studies in Sustainable Forestry
In 1999, the program expanded with the creation of the Frances Elizabeth Hilder Scholarship to provide financial assistance to post-secondary students in the field of Canadian forest conservation. This was a great addition to our scholarship program and the good news is both programs continue to be offered to students that meet our eligibility requirements, plus we are now announcing a third fund!
Introducing the Indigenous Manitoba Wildlife Endowment Fund
Our newest scholarship supports research students focused on the conservation of wildlife in Northern Manitoba. These studies must integrate Indigenous perspectives regarding sustainability and management strategies into full-time university studies of Northern Manitoba’s Boreal Forest and/or Arctic environments.
