Ever try to get rid of mosquitoes by spraying them with water? You may want to try another tactic!
It’s crazy to think that a tiny mosquito can survive a downpour but according to Georgia Tech researchers, mosquitoes are able to do just this. What allows mosquitoes to survive in rain where a single rain drop can weigh 50 times more than a mosquito? It’s their exoskeleton (the hard outer structure that is found on some animals such as insects) and their low mass.
Just think – this would be the equivalent of us getting hit by a car.
I always knew mosquitoes were tough little insects – just not this tough!
