Around town, honeysuckles and lilacs are still going strong. I will have to wait until next week to post all the images from our gardens, but until then, here&#8217;s the list&#8230;so come back and check out their photos next week!<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764378\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"foamflower\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/foamflower-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Foamflower &#8211; this attractive groundcover has been blooming in a nearby woodland\/park for a while now, but only just starting at CWF.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764379\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"golden Alexanders flowers up close\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/golden-alexanders-close-up-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div id=\"image-380764380\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"golden Alexanders and flax\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/golden-alexanders-with-blue-flax-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Golden Alexanders are a bright plant in the garden but they have to be kept in check each year.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764381\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pussytoes\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/pussytoes-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Pussytoes &#8211; an unusual plant that makes an interesting groundcover.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764382\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"bluets\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/bluets-3-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div id=\"image-380764383\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"bluets\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/bluets-2-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Bluets &#8211; actually, they were in flower last week as well, but i forgot to include them! They are a tiny plant with such pretty flowers that are best if you have a large clump. Ours have both white and blue flowers &#8211; a pretty combination.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764384\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Canada anenome\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/canada-anenome-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Canada anemone &#8211; a bright plant for a partially shady area&#8230;but they will spread each season.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/blue-eyed-grass-300px.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Blue-eyed grass &#8211; a plant that can be easily overlooked when not in flower, resembling grass, but its gorgeous bloom helps it stand out, although they only flower for a short time.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764385\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"lupins\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/lupins-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Lupins are always attractive&#8230;and our bees love them!<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764386\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"blue flag iris\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/blue-flag-iris-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Blue flag iris grows in a few of our beds.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764387\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"fragrant sumac flowers \" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/fragrant-sumac-flowers-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div id=\"image-380764388\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"fragrant sumac flowers up close\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/fragrant-sumac-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Fragrant sumac &#8211; its flowers don&#8217;t stand out, but are kind of neat when you take a closer look. It has more of a rounded shrub look than it&#8217;s cousin the staghorn sumac.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764389\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"highbush cranberry\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/high-bush-cranberry-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>High-bush cranberry &#8211; this shrub has pretty flowers, as do all the Viburnums that I know.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764391\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"nannyberry\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/nannyberry-forestside-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div id=\"image-380764392\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"nannyberry close up\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/nannyberry-flowers-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Nannyberry &#8211; another Viburnum with pretty spring flowers that will later provide fruit for animals.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764393\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"alum root\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/alum-root-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div id=\"image-380764394\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"alum root flower\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/alum-root-heuchera-richardsonii-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p><em>Heuchera richardsonii<\/em>, aka alum root has white flowers, unlike the bright red choral bells found in most nurseries.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764395\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pagoda dogwood\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/pagoda-dogwood-2-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Pagoda dogwood &#8211; a graceful tree that the birds love to perch in before and after a drink or bath in the stream that leads to our pond.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764396\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"prairie smoke\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/prairie-smoke-300-px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div id=\"image-380764397\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"prairie smoke seed head\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/prairie-smoke-seed-head-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Prairie smoke still has some flowers, but many are turning to seed heads&#8230;a pretty wisp that gives it its name.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764398\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Camassia\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---may-25-2012\/camassia-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Wild hyacinth (<em>Camassia scilloides<\/em>)- a gorgeous plant that flowers for only a few days, gracing our front sign bed.<\/p>\n<p>Still in flower from last week include violets, Solomon&#8217;s seal, columbines, geraniums, mitrewort, water avens.
