Chemical pollutants enter our water from industrial activities, agriculture and our homes. Although healthy aquatic ecosystems like bogs and wetlands can purify polluted water, they just can\u2019t keep up with the amount of toxins that we are dumping into them.<\/p>\n<p>Chemical pollutants in water can lower fertility, damage immune systems or cause deformities, tumours and even death in aquatic species.
