With the help of hundreds of partners and supporters, we’re restoring the habitat Monarchs so desperately need to survive. We’ve already planted 1,795 hectares — that’s close to 15 city blocks of restored meadow habitat. The same is true for the meadows we’re creating. Every pollinator meadow we plant follows the rhythm of what we call the “sleep, creep and leap” formula.

Year 1: Sleep
Beneath the meadows’ surface, roots spread and strengthen, soaking up water and energy from the soil.

Year 2: Creep
Seedlings send shoots skyward, slowly reaching for the sun.

Year 3: Leap
Vibrant blooms stretch across the landscape, flourishing with little need for intervention.

By this time, the pollinators have taken notice, flocking and feeding on the bountiful table that may have been a hydro-corridor wasteland, a roadside ditch, or part of a farmer’s field just three years before.

It’s a sight to behold: Monarchs fluttering over meadows they now call home, bees busily pollinating the flowers that sustain them, and entire ecosystems springing back to life.

That triple effect has a ripple effect that you can be a part of! By making a donation now, we are not just planting seeds; we are planting hope for a brighter, more sustainable future.

Supporting Canadian Wildlife Federation gives hundreds of thousands of native plants the opportunity to sleep, creep and leap their way into the ecosystem. This provides pollinators with much needed habitat, as well as helping Canadian conservation by providing nature-based solutions.

That is why Canadians’ support is making a lasting difference for Canada’s wildlife and wild spaces. Thanks to our supporters’ dedication, we’re able to take meaningful action today to protect biodiversity and ensure a brighter future for generations to come. Their commitment helps us restore habitats, conserve vulnerable species and inspire communities across the country to care for the natural world we all depend on.

Nature is deeply interconnected, and when we help one species, we help them all. Thank you for being a crucial part of this effort and for your unwavering commitment to wildlife conservation!

You can be part of the movement! Donate now >

Recently, the Monarch Butterfly was officially classified as Endangered by the federal government.
