But they\u2019re also been used on the blooms we plant in our gardens.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.cwf-fcf.org\/index.php\/en\/why-did-health-canada-change-their-mind-about-neonics\/\">research <\/a>studies indicate that even small quantities of neonicotinoids (neonics) have a harmful impact on pollinators, such as bees. These chemicals affect their capacity to navigate, forage for food, and procreate. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hww.ca\/en\/wildlife\/invertebrates\/bumble-bees.html?src=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bumblebee<\/a> colonies that contain neonics develop at a slower rate and produce fewer queens. Additionally, in certain regions, butterflies are also experiencing a significant decline, particularly in areas adjacent to agricultural land.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s time we put pesticides to rest. This summer, we\u2019re asking you to pay close attention at the <a href=\"https:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/en\/explore\/gardening-for-wildlife\/plants\/buy\/medallion\/?src=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">garden centre<\/a>. Purchase plants that don\u2019t contain neonics.
