I like feeling the earth and plants against my skin, wearing gloves only when handling thorny plants, moving stones and other rough work. But I don&#8217;t like all the scrubbing and soaking it takes to get them clean afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>In looking through my copy of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/marjorieharris.com\/blog\/books-services\/books\/favourite-gardening-tips\" target=\"_blank\">Favourite Gardening Tips<\/a><\/em> by Marjorie Harris the other day, I read her idea to dig your nails in some soap before you go digging in the dirt! That way, your nails are already full of something&#8230;something that washes away much more easily than earth! I tried it last night and it worked!
