It is a natural species with some pink flower clusters along with the white ones &#8211; very pretty! The flowers bloom atop a stem that grows up to a foot or two tall, with feather leaves along the stem, as shown below.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764745\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"yarrow leaf\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---june-28-2012\/yarrow-leaf-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div id=\"image-380764746\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"false sunflower\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---june-28-2012\/heliopsis-helianthoides-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Our perennial sunflowers are blooming, with the false sunflower &#8211; <em>Heliopsis helianthoides<\/em> starting the show.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764747\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"echinacea and verbena\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---june-28-2012\/echinacea-and-verbena-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Joining them in our Drought Bed are Echinacea and <em>Verbena stricta<\/em>, a vervain that is great for bees and dry spots.<\/p>\n<div id=\"image-380764748\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"thimbleweed\" src=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/assets\/images\/conservation\/blog\/cwf-garden---june-28-2012\/thimbleweed-300px.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Our Service Entrance bed has had some challenges of finding plants that can handle solid shade to hot afternoon sun, due to the position of the walls that they grow next to.
